| Gravimat® Gravimetric Dilutor |
The Gravimat® gravimetric dilutor is the latest addition to the BagSystem® range of food and solid sample preparation products. The Gravimat® allows automatic dilution of a solid sample with the appropriate mass of solvent to give a user specified dilution. The custom dilution factor is saved automatically after each sample for application to the subsequent dilution. Dilution and dispensing methods are easily selected directly from a menu displayed on the screen.
The Gravimat® is easy to use, with step by step instructions being displayed on the screen during operation:
- Select dilution on screen
- Place a new bag in the BagOpen® stand on the gravimat
- Place the sample in the bag
- The Gravimat® now weighs the sample
- Pull down the handle on the top of the unit
- The correct mass of diluent is dispensed from the nozzle into the bag
- Raise the handle and remove the bag
- Details of the dilution are displayed on the screen and can be sent to the optional printer or LIMS.
The Gravimat® is not limited to dilutions by mass, it can also be used to dispense a preset mass of liquid or as a weighing platform. The Gravimat® is also available with two pumps, allowing either of the two different diluents to be selected by the push of a button.
| The optional booster kit adds a double pump assembly and tubing to the unit, allowing liquid to be dispensed at a higher flow rate, halving the time taken to dispense the liquid to under 10 seconds for 250ml. |
Samples are be identified by a unique sample ID, which may be generated by the Gravimat® as an auto-incrementing number, or entered at dilution time through the keypad or optional barcode reader. |

| The optional printer allows a hard copy record of sample dilutions to be printed after each dilution. These may be printed either to paper for filing or to a label which may be adhered to the bag. Information printed includes: date, time, user ID, pump selection, sample ID, sample weight, total weight, dilution factor and dilution accuracy. |
